For the 2007 Pan Am Games the total number of entrants for badminton is 88 (44 female and 44 male). Maximum entrants per country are 8 (4 female and 4 male). Every Pan Am country has the right to enter one female and one male badminton player.
The rankings of Pan Am countries as of April 26, 2007 will determine the number of entrants allowed per country. Based on the World Rankings of November 16, 2006 the following were the top ranked Pan Am countries: Canada, USA, Peru, Mexico, Brazil, Guatemala, Puerto Rico, Cuba, TT, Jamaica, Surinam and Ecuador.

On November 19 Mohan travelled to Los Angeles to the inauguration of the new Badminton Pan Am Office in Long Beach. Mohan announced that he would be joining Badminton New Zealand effective 1st January, 2007 and he would be based in Wellington.

The Calgary Winter Club in Calgary will be hosting the 2007 Pan Am Championships from May 15 to May 19. The 2007 Pan Am Championships will be a 2 Star ranking tournament and held during the Olympic qualifying period, runs from May 2007 to April 2008, so we should expect a good turn out. The Pan Am Team Championship will be on May 15 and 16 with the individual championships following in the next 3 days.
